Impact 60 is pleased to have awarded four scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each at the Senior Awards Program May 11, 2017.
The following Marysville High School Seniors were selected based on their strong academic performance, service to community and need.
Madi has given her time helping in the kitchen at The Hope Center every Monday, volunteers at Trinity Lutheran School with their band program and has traveled to West Virginia on a mission trip. She has
participated in student council, MHS Band as a section leader, Refuge Bible Study, Pro Terra Nova, LEO Club, National Honor Society and Lord of Life Lutheran Church Youth Group. In addition to being one of MHS’s Valedictorians for the 2016-17 school year, she has been invited to the Honors Program while attending Malone University. Madi will study to become a youth minister.
Emma has been a member of the National Honor Society, In the Halls, Special Olympics, Pro Terra Nova Club, Drama Club and Book Club while attending MHS. She is also very active with Youth Advance (Christian Leadership Conference), youth group, vacation Bible as a School Instructor/Aide and assists with a toddler Bible Class. Emma has helped with meal preparation for homeless shelters, coordinated and purchased gifts during the holidays for local children and is a church school instructor for peers and younger children at the Marysville Church of Christ. Emma will attend The Ohio State University to study Criminology and Psychology.
Connor is a 2016-2017 Valedictorian at Marysville High School, Vice President of the National Honor Society, President of the Leo Club, and is High School Assistant Director of the Bunsold Middle School Mini Swingers. During the past four years Connor was a Dance Captain of the Marysville Swingers Unlimited Show Choir, Student Council, Marysville Track and Field, Marysville Mock Trial, and Team Captain of the Marysville Swim Team which he holds 3 event records. Connor still found time to volunteer at Memorial Health as a therapy assistant and surgery clerk (130 hours) and the Union County Foundation. Connor will study Neuroscience and pre-med at The Ohio State University.
Kendra has been actively involved in Student Council (Vice President), National Honor Society, Leo Club, MHS and Club Volleyball (Captain) and NC4K while attending Marysville High School. She has volunteered at the Union County Humane Society, YMCA and Peer Collaboration. Kendra has a desire to make an effort to cause change, big or small, because with change comes opportunities. Kendra will attend Wright State University and study Criminal Justice.
