Our Focus

Ohio, along with the rest of the nation, is currently facing an unprecedented opiate epidemic. Deaths due to overdose puts Ohio in the top-five of states losing the battle.  Over 4,050 Ohio lives ended in 2016.  With drug abuse and crime directly related, the only way to mitigate these negative outcomes is to become part of the solution.

IMPACT60 and its associates support programs designed to do just that—become part of the positive IMPACT.

Youth programs are but one way IMPACT60 is helping to battle drug use.

Grab the reins and consider giving your 60 mins a week to Discovery Riders a 501-c3 non-profit organization that provides equine assisted activities and therapies to individuals with special needs in Logan and surrounding counties. They serve children and adults with cognitive, physical, and social/emotional needs. At risk youth are a large percentage of the population served. Equine therapy improves social skills, physical strength, balance, and coordination, and helps to reduces anxiety. Volunteers 14+ years old are needed! No horse experience? No problem! All new volunteers attend Volunteer Training where you learn the ins and outs of helping during class! Learn how to properly groom, tack up, and lead a horse. Already a master of the basics? No worries! Help us show others how it's done. Learn how to side-walk along our clients and the proper handholds that help them feel secure and stay focused during class time.

Not interested in the 'horsey' side of things? Awesome! Come help us feed the horses, tidy the barn, clean stalls, mow the lawn, landscape, paint, file, bath the horses (you never know), or float around the barn interacting with parents and helping everyone feel welcome.
