At Creekview, our staff is dedicated to teaching kids more than just our core subjects; we are motivated to give our students experiences that teach them what it means to give back. This spring, 5th grade students at Creekview gave back to their community through a variety of service projects. Each 5th grade team partnered with a local business or organization to plan and implement a student-driven project.
Pictured are students from the purple team who partnered with residents from the Gables. They painted clay pots for their rooms and spruced up their garden areas. The resident’s eyes lit up as our students walked in the room. It was amazing to see the connections students made and what they learned about a different generation. One of my students said “I really liked this. I don’t get to see my grandma very often so it was like I was hanging out with my grandma”.
We would like to thank Honda Marysville for giving our students the opportunity to give back to the community. They learned a lot about what it means to be a good citizen.
